About Pope's Creek
Popes Creek Baptist Church is a member of the Southern Baptist Convention.
We are a traditional Baptist church with a passion for serving God and His people. Our services maintain reverence for the traditions set by generations before us while also acknowledging the adaptations necessary to meet the needs of contemporary Christians.
Regardless of age, Popes Creek Baptist Church is passionate about meeting the needs of all Christians! Our nursery is open every Sunday during service hours.
During our worship hour, we offer both a "children's sermon" conducted in the sanctuary and a children's church program during the second half of worship service. This format helps our school-age children gain a better understanding of our practices and procedures while also spending time in worship with their families.
Our Youth Ministry, "The Vine," is offered for students in grades 6-12. We meet biweekly at the church and at off-campus settings such as parks, sporting events, and entertainment facilities. The name "The Vine" is in reference to the scripture from John 15 and the mission of the youth group to do good deeds for others, showing Christ-like love.
Our church family also strives to conduct outreach missions on an ongoing basis, providing assistance through a food pantry, community outreach, and numerous service projects.
Meet Pastor Thomas Preston
Pastor Thomas Preston is a native of Westmoreland County, Virginia, where he currently lives with his wife, Amanda, and two sons- Younger and Eli. During his service as a United States Marine, Thomas devoted his life to Christ.
Following his enlistment, Thomas served in many ministerial leadership roles and was called to obtain his B.S. in Religion-Christian Ministry from Liberty University. After years of evangelical work, God led Thomas to Popes Creek Baptist Church- the very church where his parents were married nearly forty years earlier.
Thomas is humbled by the path God created that led him to Popes Creek Baptist Church, and is blessed to have such an amazingly supportive church family!
